Seat belt laws are stupid. I’m not saying wearing a seat belt is stupid by any means. I always wear mine, but the idea that you should be fined for not wearing one seems kind of ridiculous to me. People SHOULD have the choice to wear one or not. Just the same as someone chooses to ride a motorcycle or not and realistically what’s more dangerous under most circumstances…getting into an accident in a car not wearing a seat belt, or getting into an accident on a motorcycle. Which one is more likely to cause permanent damage?

Like I said I wear my seat belt and no it’s not because I’m “scared” into doing it in fear that I will receive a ticket, I do it because it’s the smart thing to do in the event that I were to get into a crash. I guess this post was meant to get you thinking…why do you wear a seat belt…is it because you’re scared of getting a ticket? Is it because you know you’re probably safer in the event of a crash with it on versus not? But it also is to get you thinking why do some laws get passed?
