Working On the Cars

Posted in Random on August 12th, 2008 by Andy – Be the first to comment

So yesterday I pretty much worked on the cars all day.  I started by working on my car thinking maybe there was something wrong with the clutch fluid and/or the master cylinder (this makes it easier to depress the clutch similar to power steering makes it easier to turn the wheel).  So I completly cleared the fluid lines and replaced the fluid.  This seemed to solve the problem of the clutch not being able to engage at all meaning I can now shift my car into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and reverse.  But now when trying to take off there is virtually no power to the wheels.  There is about enough power to go 1 m.p.h. in first gear, no bueno.   So now I’m pretty convinced it’s a bad clutch which so far the cheapest place I found is $550.

Next I started working on changing the oil in Joe’s Explorer because I told him I would.  Everything is going too until I finally get the bolt holding the oil in the oil pan.  I had misplaced the bowl I was using the collect the oil (since both of our other oil pans are full) and of course the bolt was mounted sideways so the oil started spurting out sideways versus straight down where I had the bowl so I got oil EVERYWHERE on the driveway.  It was a pain in the ass to clean up even though I didn’t clean it up fully.  But anyways after I let all the oil drain now into the bowl like it should have, I went to go take off the oil filter but somebody decided to make it so tight I couldn’t unscrew it.  So now I had to wait for Kendra to get home to drive me over to Autozone since I now did not have Joe’s car to drive.  So I get the oil filter wrench and finish up.

So this morning we get some cops at the door saying we can’t park our cars on the street when the school across the street is starting or when it’s getting out because it impedes traffic and forces cars to drive into oncoming traffic endangering the lives of the children.  Where the hell are we supposed to park our cars?!  Looks like we have to be extremely ghetto and park them on the lawn well at least one of them.

Just a Random Thought About the Future

So I was randomly thinking about the future when it comes time to buy a house.  Yes, I know that is way down the road, but if I’m anything like I am now I’m not sure if I will.  I think I like changing things up too much.  Like even with the new house that we’re moving into.  It’s not like I was miserable in this house but I like to change it up into something new every once and a while.  I know this is way down the road but it was one of those random thoughts you have

OMG It’s a Pixelated Rocket!!

So I was looking through my Xbox today (whenever I mention Xbox I mean 360).  I found the original Doom game…yeah that’s right the one from 1993.  Me and Aaron are stuck on this huge rocket shooting demon guy and when the rocket flies past you it’s all pixelated and kind of funny.

Another Update on the Move

It looks like everything is a go…The background checks, credit checks, and everything else seemed to have cleared with them.  Joe is going to turn in the deposit after work today and after that it will be offical.  I’m really excited for this move and honestly I don’t know what I’m more excited for…moving or turning 21.  I am having dreams about turning 21 already though.

Update on the Move

So Joe turned in the applications and according to the guy everything should be okay and Joe is going to turn in the deposit tomorrow.  Me and Kendra started cleaning out some of the kitchen cabinets so it’s less to do in a few weeks.  I’ll keep you posted!

Donnie Darko and Random

So for all of you who have seen Donnie Darko you never quite understand it the first time, but I watched it for the second time today and caught onto a lot more.  One of the biggest things I’m wondering about is that Frank is a real person right?  Is he real when Donnie sees him especially for the first time?  There are some times that I’m not sure.  I uploaded the video to this website: Donnie Darko Check it out if you want to watch the movie.  But other than Donnie Darko things are going pretty good.  We’re going to goto the relators renting out the house to turn in the applications and see if everything is good.  So tomorrow will be the final decision if we’re moving to the new house.  And finally Max has decided to start sleeping upstairs and scares the shit out of me when I’m not expecting it.  Well I’m heading off to bed but I’ll try to write soon and let you guys know what happens tomorrow.

Moving :)

So we are moving.  Not sure who I’ve really told this to but I hate the house I live in…Not my roommates probably the only reason I’ve stayed in this house but it’s falling apart and its uncomfortable during the day since we have to keep the A/C at 85 and realistically in my room that’s closer to 90-93o which in AZ is not fun.  But we checked out this 5 bedroom house yesterday and it’s VERY close to ASU only 2 miles away so we aren’t going to have a problem finding 2 other roommates at $450 with utilities included at all.  The best part about this new house is that it has a pool!  And the rent is only $1850 for 5 bedroom/4 bathroom and did I mention a pool?  Joe is filling out the paperwork today and talking to the guy and hopefully we’ll be moving in the middle of August before school starts so I’m really excited for that!  So wish us luck and I’ll keep you posted on what happens

Cleaning

Why do I always cut myself while cleaning?  It’s so annoying because then I have to stop for a while.

It’s been a while hasn’t it?

Some interesting things have happened and I’m not really sure why I haven’t posted in a while but I haven’t so here it goes.  Last week was just like any other week just had school at 7:40 then worked after that.  Friday the new iPhone went out and my original plan was to get one since my Verizon contract is ending soon and the timing was perfect because my phone was broken during the saving of the baby.  But that plan fell through since I don’t have enough money to purchase said iPhone so I’m rolling with Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go.  But as some of you know I have an iPod touch which is the same thing as an iPhone minus the phone.  Anyways on friday Apple released the new software for the iPod touch I coughed out $10 to buy it and oh boy was it worth it.  It has a bunch of cool new features like application downloads so people can make their own applications such as a Facebook application etc and there is this really cool one called Remote which will let me control iTunes anywhere inside my house from my iPod.  So now Saturday comes along and I have this game night planned which was fun I think.  Here is why I think it was fun and wasn’t 100% sure if it was :) .  Since I’m sure everyone who reads this has consumed alcohol some point in their life they know where I’m going with this.  So the big thing about this is that I was going to try this new shot with my friend Nathan and it was called “Liquid Cocaine”.  The shot is 1/3 Bacardi 151 1/3 Jagermeister and 1/3 Goldshalger(sp).  Needless to say we decided to be retarded and do 5 of those shots within 15 minutes.  That was probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done with alcohol.  We took it easy for a few hours after than because you can imagine I was pretty drunk at this point.  Well its only 10:00 p.m so you better believe we’re not done yet.  We end up doing 3 shots of straight 151 which is probably the 2nd stupidest thing I’ve ever done with alcohol and finished off the night with an Irish Carbomb.  I didn’t die amazingly and realized that there was a good chance I could have hurt myself bad with that much so I know I’m not drinking that much anymore.  And I’m sure we’ve all been to hangover land…oh yeah Sunday was not a good day I woke up still slightly buzzed and when that went away I just wanted to be asleep all day.  Anyways I welcome your criticisms of how stupid this was because I need to hear it :) .  Today was pretty sweet too had an exam at 7:40 mastered it no problem then just worked played some Halo and had a good day.  Then for dinner Joe took me and Kendra to Claim Jumper which was awesome we’re practically family over here.

Andrew Meyers….Baby Saver

Posted in Random, School on June 30th, 2008 by Andy – Be the first to comment

So I’m not really sure why I forgot to mention this in my last post…but apparently I’m a baby saver and no one cares.  I went over to Joe’s niece’s birthday part on Saturday…she turned one.  Anyways everyone was hanging out by the pool…well not everyone but I was and we had some babies with us at the steps so they were tall enough to stand.  So one of the babies decided to take one step too far and ended up going under and natural instinct kicked in and I went in and grabbed him…yes with all my clothes on.  Here’s the real kicker cell phone = in pocket = bad.  Grant it I probably had enough time to take my cell phone out of my pocket before getting in but I didn’t think about anything else except to go in.  And if you think breaking my cell phone was bad here’s the worst part of it at all.  I bring the kid back up and the parents told me I didn’t have to do that and he would have been fine.  WHAT?!  He was probably at oldest one…2 feet tall at the most in a 3 ft pool completly underwater.  Yes I got him in probably less than 3 seconds, but I don’t know of too many babies who go under water without some kind of panic setting in meaning his heart rate increased (and if you know about the heart rate of babies compared to adults it’s already much higher)…the higher heart rate and adrenaline rush means you need more oxygen meaning you need to breath…and what happens when you breathe underwater?  You drown…no bueno.  So basically I lost a cellphone with no gratitude at least from the parents.  Anyways after that incident the party was pretty fun ended up going in the pool myself with the older (by older I mean like 8 year olds) and did the whole big brother like thing with Joe doing monkey fights and races and all that fun stuff.  Kinda made me realize that I need to start swimming again because just from that stuff it was a huge workout.  Okay enough about the weekend two exams today whew!  Neither one of them were bad at all though pretty easy.
